(Taken from Bea Arcenas’ garage sale minutes)
Sale Opening:
As early as 7:01 AM last Saturday, thirty five construction workers, helpers, drivers, body guards and bystanders filled the Sacro garage. The morning was busy for our sellers! While all this was happening, Bea heard an obnoxious lady haggling with Elaine Saul Baloloy over curtains. As all this ‘tawaran’ was going on, a man nabbed a VHS rewinder worth forty pesos (alam niya kaya na wala ng gamit ‘yon?) Elaine Saul Baloloy bravely ran after the man!!! And for that, Elaine has been crowned Queen of Garage Sales! Sadly, we never got to earn from that VHS rewinder. That’s 40 bucks down the drain. (Bea’s thought bubble: “Forty pesos?!!!” …as pronounced in the running Dove commercial.)
Garage Sale Donations:
Thank you, all!!! Acy Legarda donated, I hear, a pile high of glamorous gowns. Tina Puno, tons of purple shoes and a balikbayan box full of cassette tapes... sold at 1 buck each. An unbelievable amount of barongs were donated by Coco Raymundo.
Thank you, too, to everyone else that donated old things for the garage sale.
Highlights of the Afternoon:
• Elaine Saul Baloloy is Crowned Queen (of Garage Sales). That now makes her "Reyna Elaine na"
• Winnie Sacro whipped up a fabulous lunch for everyone. Thank you!
• She also served everyone brownies that she, too, baked!
• Priceless stories from Winnie’s mother-in-law which everyone enjoyed.
• The electric fan’s draft must not hit Chinky de Leon! Not even on a hot day.
• Mayet Amora Yap brings asado rolls.
• VHS rewinder stolen.
Total Sale:
PhP 21,000 bucks! Congratulations!!! We would have had an extra 40 bucks though if that man had not stolen the rewinder.

A Note from our host, Winnie Santos (not the one from Apat na Sikat):
Just to add to Bea's minutes...thanks again to all of you for your contributions; whether it's time spent selling under the hot sun or thru donated items or even just a note to wish us luck. Our concerted effort earned us 21K, kudos to all !! (May pang bayad na tayo ng bulaklak para sa Homecoming mass heheh) I will let you know what the junk collector or Eloy's pays for the remaining stuff here in Magallanes. They should be coming some time this week. It was a pleasure hosting those who got to stay for lunch..so until the next garage sale, keep on clearing your cabinets!!
